Fleet Mechanic


Reports To: Shop Manager

Summary: Repairs and maintains Company fleet (tractors, trailers and vehicles) to ensure entire fleet is safe, dependable and available.


  • Reports to work on each assigned day, at the assigned time. Schedule subject to change as needed.
  • Maintains, repairs and reconditions varied equipment including automobiles, vans, lift trucks, heavy trucks, trailers, forklifts and similar equipment.
  • Overhauls transmissions, engines, clutches, universals, alternators and starters.
  • Repairs and overhauls axle assemblies, adjust and reline brakes, tunes engines and performs general servicing such as all types of preventive maintenance.
  • Documents all service and repairs on written forms and/or electronically.
  • Determines the need for vehicles to be removed from service for repairs based upon inspection or driver reported problems.
  • Operates standard automotive tests and shop equipment.
  • Provides roadside assistance to Company vehicles.
  • Purchases fleet supplies at the best value.
  • Maintains tools and shop equipment in excellent and safe condition.
  • Maintains shop in a clean, safe and well-organized manner.
  • Monitors fuel tanks and supplies, avoiding out-of-stocks.
  • Follows all safety rules.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Maintains NFS’ culture of dignity and respect and works as a productive member of a team.
  • Attends North Florida Sales’ meetings as required.
  • Adheres to all Anheuser-Busch policies.
  • Adheres to all State Beverage Laws.
  • Wears only company provided uniforms.
  • Responsible for all equipment supplied to them by the Company.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience


High School diploma or general education degree (GED).  3-5 years of Fleet Maintenance experience. 


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations


Valid Florida Driver’s License (Class A preferred), safe driving record meeting NFS' MVR Guidelines maintained during entire length of employment.
